About
I was born in Papua New Guinea to parents of Australian and PNG heritage and moved to Australia in 1983. After a career in law and raising my children, I returned to art in 2014 through watercolour painting. My work is inspired by the vibrant colours, dramatic light and deep shadows of the tropics, exploring themes of place, memory and connection.
In 2016, my portrait Jeffrey was Highly Commended in the Border Art Prize (now the Wollumbin Art Award), and I was a finalist in Brisbane’s Milburn Art Prize for Committee Mary. I was also a finalist in the Wollumbin Art Prize in 2024, and again in 2026.
Alongside painting, I am an active ceramicist whose work has been exhibited in NSW and Queensland, including Artisans in the Gardens and Gallery Lowe+Lee in Newtown and CBD Gallery, Sydney.
